The goal of this challenge is to explore the different aspirations, collections, careers, etc in the game. What I thought was most interesting about this challenge is that each generation has three aspirations to complete - one as an young adult, one as an adult, and one as an elder. I usually run out of things for my elders to do, so I thought this sounded interesting. A full list of the rules can be found here.
Another reason I chose this challenge is that the traits for the founder were almost a perfect match for Dia Constar. If you ever read my Constar Legacy then you will recall that Dia was my Gen 5 heir. Unfortunately, the game file became corrupt and I had to revert back to an older save file. Additionally, I made the change from using Alpha hair to Maxis Match and didn't really want to redo all of the family in CAS. Therefore, the original Constar legacy is being sent to the graveyard and we are starting over with Dia as our founder. Welcome to the Constar Legacy 2.0.
Legacy Succession Laws
I plan to follow the same legacy succession laws I was using with the original
Constar legacy with one exception.
- Gender Law - Strict Equality: The founder may be of either gender. However, only children of the opposite gender to the founder are eligible to be named heir. This repeats itself for the next generation (the next heir must be a different gender than the previous heir) so that each generation will have alternating-genders as heirs.
- Bloodline Law - Traditional: Children who are naturally born (or a Science baby) from the previous generation are eligible to be named heir. Adopted children are ineligible to be named heir unless there are no naturally born or science baby children that can trace their lineage to the founder, at which point they become eligible for that generation.
- Heir Law - Democracy: This rule may be used if you are displaying your Legacy Challenge in some public way. The heir is chosen by your readers from among the pool of eligible heirs.
- Species Law - The species of the child
has no impact on their eligibility for heir status unless a specific
type is required for the challenge. This is different from the original legacy because in that one all heirs needed to be alien and in this one that doesn't matter. In fact, there are certain generations that require the heir to be a different supernatural type.
